v8 lpg or td5

thinking of swapping my td4 hippo for a discovery feel free to take to the piste you need a sense of humour to run a freelander.but any serious advice on which disco v8 lpg or td5 would be welome wan t a v8 but wife says td 5

As the only difference will be the engine, so with the petrol engine will have more power although it's said to loose 10% when using LPG and of course you will use more fuel(petrol) and the mileage range due to the size of the LPG tanks is limited, also the V8 is quieter.

Diesel, well I can't say anything on that I have only driven a Td5 once but I believe the only thing going for it is the MPG.

Hi, i've got a 2002 TD5. Engine has been fairly reliable and get about 450-500 miles per tank of fuel (mixed driving). It's not the fasted thing on earth and can be a little noisy, but that's what you get with a TD5 engine.

For better engine response you there are lots of relatively cheap things you can do such as EGR removal, re-map, sort exhaust, larger inter-cooler, mess around with boost and fuel pump etc....and there are lots of companies who will do this for you.....

The V8 on LPG is wonderful, powerful and smooth, (mate has one), but you are limited on tank range dependant upon the size of LPG tank(s). Also need to budget accordingly for LPG servicing. Economy comparrisons of diesel vs LPG are always a hot potatoe, but at the end of the day it's your money and your choice.

nice on gas the v8 but......

bargepole the td5 dude get a 3.9 v8 on gas.
