Hi All,

I purchased a series V8 conversion plate about 8 months ago on ebay which arrived in excellent condition.
Having just finished building the V8 I thought I would just check the conversioin plate against the gearbox, and found the studs/bolts dont line up.
I have seen similar ones advertised for series that seem to be the same, however I have just found one that appears to have the same alignment.

Can any of you clever people out there tell me if there are two types of conversion plates/gearboxes if that makes any sense.

Thanks in advance.

Not to my knowledge. What box is it? My milner philips plate fitted any series box and any 2.25 defender box (maybe an lt77?) According to instructions. My guess is unless your box is different to that then its the wrong plate!

Looking on the web you may have a 6cyl plate for a 2.6 gbox which has holes in different places. So two exist it seems, 4cyl series and 6 cyl series. You may of course have a 6cyl box. What year and engine did your series have? 109 or 88?

Hi ronseal

Thanks for your reply. After investigating what you have said, it would appear your spot on. I have now obtained the correct one. It's really good learning stuff as you go along

Tidy post some pics and progress on here, a v8 conversion is always nice to see (seeing as I gave up on mine before I even began!) Best of luck its worth it in the end I reckon
