I may have chance of a V6 Auto HSE 2001 which has cooked, needs head gasket(s) etc.
I was thinking of breaking it for the bits I want on mine (Leather etc) but thought was 1. Is it worth repairing a V6?
2. As it is I am told spotless condition, is it worth considering an engine swap? What fits this auto beast? (TD4/2l L etc)
If I get it it's going to be very cheap so budget could be £1k
;)

In my own personal experience, doing headgaskets on a Kv6 is a nightmare, i hate working on those engines. I think the timing is a pain as well. Also , you'd need to know whats gone on the engine, ive seen cracked pistons in those things. If i was going through the hassle of doing headgaskets i'd definately do a headskim as well.

On the otherhand , nick what you want and weight it in :)

Td4 and L series diesels are no good for the v6 FL version of the Jatco auto. IRD is a different ratio, puters + lectrics would need changed. Fool system changed. List is quite long. Parts like the ird and front porp on a v6 are different, so worth a small fortune on ebay.

And don't forget the wheels are the bigger type, alternator, starter, rear diff, puter, lectrics, auto gearbox... Jast make sure yer gives me the bits I need fer free. Need to keep mine going for everer un everer. :)
