Hi..need some help here, or just peace of mind all is ok.

I need to tow a mates discovery today and as I drove off my drive there was this clunk like something was stuck..

the land rover has been parked on the drive for a week, and as I moved off I got this clunk like something was stuck...
you know, like when the brakes are stuck?

could this been because of the recent heavy rain we've had and that last time I took it through some deep water just at the back of my house? (was just to test if recent work done was alright..)

and as I parked it with the brakes wet, they seized?

now it seems alright, but just want to make sure it couldnt be something else?

cheers

as you have discs all round and the handbrake drum is on the back of transfer box it sounds like handbrake was stuck on when you pull away it frees of with quite a clunk, as my drive is level i tend to leave mine in gear and brake off if parked up for any length of time

transfer box rear output seal early weeping will cause this too.
Worth a peak to be sure. last one I had just 180 grit paper over shoes to remove oil and oil seal was £3

if it is weeping oil seal, JP - give us a bell, come over with a noo seal, a gallon of petrol (no match) and i will give yu a hand if yu want - its an easy job. Done it on my series - took a morning - thats including a complete strip down and readjust/grease of linkage and adjuster.

Ok, cool, thanks for sugestions and the offer MHM..
I'll leave it park during this week, using only gear and no handbrake and see what happens..

Just at my mates now.. first drive with the new hose (air filter box to turbo) as my old one had the internal walls collapsed.... and no feckin change!!
still have no power at all... as soon as I start going uphill the revs just keep going down... I only manage to go uphill in second and even that is a struggle!

god knows how im going to tow his landrover...
