Unusual 300TDi

Bought this the other day for our shoot hack but im thinking i ought to put her in the shed. 300TDi auto. Special vehicles. 3 door. air con. wood effect trim. Wondering why it has the special vehicles badge?

I would imagine if the 300Tdi is a factory install, then the vehicle would most likely be a special one-off or limited run, because the 3 door discovery's were powered by the 200Tdi up to 93 or thereabouts.

Special vehicles was just the department that handled bespoke orders.

3 door 300tdi isn’t that common so maybe something to do with that, worth seeing what info you can get from LR?

It looks like a bog standard 300 Tdi facelift MK1 to me, I have a very early 200tdi preface lift with aircon
So not that unusual,

The 1995MY and 1996 MY D1 base models came with with 3 or 5 doors, easily identified by being fitted with steel wheels.

This one had cyclones. Usually associated with 200s

Look at the vin plate.
Does this say special vehicle ?

Still a few about. More in France where it is drier and peeps hang on to them as they r worth more

I have a mate with one but other than his I haven’t seen one in a few years

There were 3 door 300Tdi's, just not many and possibly only early on in the 300 Series.

Used to be a weird one around Maidstone, 1996 N reg but with a 200 body on it!

Just looked on bay, not many for sale, wont be long then it will be the td5 models getting scarce.
