Suddenly some kind of bracket came loose and I have no idea what it's for. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

I have located where the screw should fit; in the middle back of the engine just beneath a couple of tubes going across. I thought maybe this bracket was to shield those tubes from heat but after 2 hours of testing I have still not found a way to attach the bracket in a "natural" way.

I appreciate any help to find out what this really is, and if it's something crucial.

That could be the answer. The screw hole is just beneath were the pipes are. Maybe the bracket should be attached in an upward position?

After some googling it looks like the screw hole is on top of the gearbox.

In pic three the bracket should not be under manifold flange it should be attached to the top of manifold flange on rearmost stud. Only thing i can find that looks anything like your part is oil cooler pipe support bracket.

Not anything to do with gearbox dipstick/filler pipe is it? Looks very similar to the one on mine in picture 1

Thank's for all good suggestions! :)

I have shared some more photos of the bracket and a video showing where I found the bolt most likely should be fitted: https://photos.app.goo.gl/CEuqqFB6MuDes7y89
The bolt fits the smaller hole on the bracket perfectly, the large one is way to big. The bolt also fits on top of the bellhousing in the hole that the video show. So as of today the bolt is fitted to the bellhousing but not the bracket.
@RangeRoller dt may be on to something - but I think the bracket that the pic show is already in place (check out the video).
I have some time to take another look at it this weekend. I'll try to take some more pictures and post them here.

I think you should forget the smaller bolt and fit the bracket using the bellhousing bolt in the larger hole, the smaller hole should be used for the loom retaining clip .
