Looking for advice on preventing rust and just generally protectin the underside on my Landie,
What would you guys recommend for a high build rust resistant primer ( got a few areas that are pitted ) and for underseal I'd imagine waxoyl is still good but can't hurt to ask and for paint I'll probably use hammerite tho I open for suggestions, cheers

Iv started using epoxy primer. Have been using it like a sealer. You clean up the metal and remove as much rust as possible. The you can spray or brush it on. I then use a zinc phosphate primer followed by chassis black or an enamel paint.

The only way to stop rust is to take back to bare metal. Laying on additional coats will only trap moisture + remember LR chassis', like most car chassis', rot from the inside out. As to preserving, it depends on how far you want to go. To do a proper job it's back to bare metal, clean, zinc acid etch primer and/or Buzzweld red primer, followed by FX 2K chassis paint. Inside of chassis, jet/steam clean the life out of the inner box sections, let to dry for a good week, then coat with a something like Bilt Hamber Dynax or Dinitrol. Both Buzzweld and Bilt Hamber products are first rate and 1. genuinely work, 2. last for years.

Can’t believe I was thinking about this today. I need to treat the chassis and running gear of my Range and know the basics, get all the orange stuff off first and treat with a converter but it’s what to finish with. I’ve always used Hammerite paint but think there must be other products so thanks for this info.
Tricky.
