I have been told by my garage that the fuse box under the dash is suffering from corrosion on the fuse and relay contacts due to water ingress. When I bought the vehicle (a TD5) the water was p1ssing out from the inerior light when it rained (the previous owner obvious did not mention this) thanks to this forum I sealed the external frame to roof and everything is now dry, but the damage is done. I bought a good used fusebox off Ebay and now realise by the date on the side I could have problems. The date states 2003 whereas my old lady is only 2001. The later fuse box has an additional relay, one of the smaller ones adjacent the big yellow jobber. Anyway, I fitted it tonight which is not a pleasant job as space and cable lengths is / are tight. The vehicle does not engage the starter and the wipers are all over the place, I have now swapped it back and all OK. Why the hell has LR made changes to a fusebox which is virtually the same model apart from a light upgrade. Does anyone know what the electrical differences are or would like to buy the fuse box.:(

ford also did this on the escort. you had to put little links in redundant relay holes to bridge the right connections but ya had to know which holes to stick em in to get things to work. put them in the wrong hole and every thing does things they shouldnt ! a bit like what youve just experienced :)
