Hi guys this is my first post on the forum and I'm hoping to find someone who has some pics of, and experience with a Bearmach Under Bumper Winch Plate fitted to a 300TDI. I don't want to fit a winch bumper as I don't do any real off roading, but I need a winch for pulling other vehicles and trailers out of mud on show grounds etc. I also use the Disco daily and don't like the aggressive look of the Winch Bumpers. So I'd love to speak to someone who has fitted one in this way before I take the plunge.

Thanks in advance.

Simon

I "had" one on my D2, works exactly the same way as on the D1, and if you want a winch with a factory bumper, its the perfect solution in my opinion.

Cheers, did you fit it or was it pre-fitted, I'm just wondering if there's going to be any probs fitting it or any tips I might need to know.

yeah it isn't permanently mounted so ya don't have to inform ya insurance company, you're not driving round all day with an hundredweight of winch weighing the front end down and knackering ya suspension

Fair point :) Mind you the suspension ain't a problem as I've ordered a set of heavy duty Bearmach springs and shocks with a 2" lift. I do a bit a laning, not so much for fun but for getting where I need to be. ;) Ad the weight of the winch to the roofrack and no doubt the fuel consumption will go up again.....

why not get a demountable winch that fits on the towball??

Not aware of any towball thats rated to 9000Lbs, even "good" ones like Dixon bate etc still fall short of a 9000lb winch, which is what you "should" ideally fit to a discovery.
