Unable to from 5th gear to 4th

Hi Folks,

Have 300 TDI 110, R380 gearbox.

Once im in 5th I am unable to drop directly to 4th.

I need to drop clutch pedal, slide to 3rd (keep clutch pedal down) then into 4th, can then release pedal into 4th.

Any ideas as to the issue?

try adjusting the bias springs so 3rd and 4th are perfectly aligned when stick is pulled to one side and let go

So Ive just taken the gaiter off for a look and it looks ok. It also seems to line o
Up 3rd and 4th, this with the engine off.

What should I be checking?

Update

it looks like the turrent is worn.

try going from 5th to 4th

Will it change while stationary?
Does it have to be 3rd, or just a waggle in neutral?
