On the ballot paper in Massachuesetts was a question about the right to repair vehiles. If passed ill will put into law a requirement for 3rd party repairers to get acces to manufacturer OBD codes and software. The motor industry have put massive resources into fighting this behind the scenes but hidden in the news just now is an indication that it will pass. This will set a massive prescendent for acces to vehicle diagnostics so its worth following this closely.

Lets hope on this at least US voters make the right choice!
We should now be thinking about a similar campaign in the UK.
 
Absolutely, and not just cars too, but every consumer product on the market. Being forced to throw away in item that has developed some minor fault, is just plain wrong.
