Doing a check on the 95 HSE I purchased about a month ago after I noticed there was something leaking on the drive. Checked oil, LOW, checked water levels, NON EXISTANT, topped up oil, checked cap, MUSTARD.

Now I am panicking like mad my last car was an MGF and the headgasket went boom on that I do not want the same thing to happen to my rangey :(:(:(

Is there anything I can do? Could it be something else?

Mayonaise in the rocker cover is not always a sign of head gasket failure. As a matter of fact it's very rarely a sign of it. And most definatly not proof positive of it. More often than not to do with cooling engines after short journies. If any mechanic tells you your head gasket needs changing because there is Mayo about, go to one who knows what he is talking about, because he obviously doesn't. However it being what it is, if that drip is coolant find and seal it. Then it may pay to keep an eye on the water level.

i agree with wammers..cos that was what i was gonna say...espically if doing short trips..

though obviously top up coolent and keep an eye on it...
