U joint

I have an old 1991 110 200tdi I need a new u joint for the front prop shaft. Does any one more what the part number is? Or are they all the same?

Just away to do mine for the first time have a look at busters how to guide, its helped me out. And as far as I know ther all the same but certain types(brands) are less hard wearing than others,

there are 2 sizes ,yours should be rtc3458 smaller of the two ,the larger been rtc3346

Halfords | Comma CV & Lith-Moly Grease 500g

It should be pre-greased but load it right up.

Make sure you get ones with grease nipples, the sealed for life ones just mean "sealed for there far shorter than the other ones life".

I use molyslip but thats just because I have a big can of it, a bit expensive to be using it for general greasing but it works well!

Get a G-gun from screwfix or machinemart.

I don't mean to sound stupid but this is probably a stupid question?! How do you get the grease from the pot to the gun?? ie, if you don't have a grease cartdridge?? Does a normal grease gun work??

Its messy, you either remove the gun pump end and plunge the gun body into the grease and slowly pull the handle out as you push the gun further in, or you pull the handle back a couple of inches and stuff some grease into the gun, then pull it back a bit more etc etc.
