Hi all

Can anyone recommend what tyres would be best for me, I've tried hunting around but not sure which ones to choose.
They need to have good road manners, ('cause this is where it spends most of it's time), but perform o.k. when I go playing off the beaten track.

Currently got wrangler hp's (255 55 r18).

Any help would be great, as I aint gorra clue what to go for.

Cheers

BFG AT's
Genneral Grabber AT2's
Cooper ST's
Bravo Maxxi

I took my Disco to Wales at the weekend running Bravo Maxxi's. I was astonished that it went through all the muddy sections that the boy's with the big MT's went through with no problems at all, didnt get stuck once. Couple of the MT boys did!
I dont think i'm gonna change them for MT's just yet!

I was looking at Cooper ST's, but was told they would take a couple of weeks to arrive, they're evidently on back order, whatever that means.
We're off to Wales at easter for a week, somewhere around Corwen. Looking forward to doing a couple of lanes while We're there.

Another question for ya, I only need to replace the front tyres due to wear, the two wrangler hp's on the rear axle have loads of tread left on them. Now, should I fit the grabbers on the rear or front axle?
I'm thinking rear for the at2's and put the good hp's on the front.

Yup it was around Corwen where I was playin on the Maxxis.

your tyres are your only contact with the ground, personally I wouldnt ever mix tyres, but considering you're gonna be using mostly tarmac wiv em on, i'd put the road tyres up front till i could afford to get a full set.

but saying that, when your off road I'd want the traction up front for steering so the grabbers should go up there...

Best to save your cash up and get a full set when you got the dollars together... in the meantime your choice and take it very easy on a mixed bag of rubber!!

The two fronts are down to the legal limit and do need changing, I just can't see the point of replacing the two perfectly good rear tyres with 8mm of tread left. I'll replace them with AT2's when they're worn.
