I go for Achilles Desert Hawk, similar price to Nexens & find them good all rounders. Maybe try Nexens next time round as everyone on here seems to rate them.

Ok, I thought the original Pirrelli Scorpions on mine were awful compared to the Desert Hawks, but maybe because they were getting old (PO did about 2k per year)?

Pirrelli Scorpions always had them, but once I changed would never go back to them a very bad tyre and not a good price for what they are

Dopey I run nexan hp`s got them from Martin`s tyres bisley £80 a corner all in, and if your there more then 20 mins some thing is wrong

I have run Nexens previously...good tyre....yes more £££ will give less road noise, and maybe better wet weather performance, but I don't hoon around and have found Nexen to be more than adequate...a good driver will soon feel the limits of the boots well before it gets out of shape!

If you're driving your Rangie hard enough to get out of shape you're in the wrong car, unless you're on ice or mud. I've gone around roundabouts fast enough to have the guy behind grabbing at the wheel trying to follow but never had slip or squawk from the tyres.

Been using Kumo,s for the last year, No Noise and wear rate at presant is very good. Replaced all 4 corners at the same time £410 fitted and balanced.

I had Kumhos on my Miggy. Excellent tyre. Although only use the Ultras. I once tried a set of the KH ( = hard wearing) and they were deadly in the wet. Absolute sh!te. Never tried their all terrain.
