I have a 1991 90 hardtop tdi 200 with goodyear g90's 750/16s fitted. Any idea if these tyres are suitable in the snow, I know for rock, mud and sand they are great but would like to be prepared for the upcoming winter.

Gosh that's a question to ask. Yes they will be and that's why the army picked them is one answer, they are great in all weathers and should cut through the snow as they are narrower.

You can of course get a more aggressive profile which would be even better but it will likely set you back 400 quid and you wont spot much difference unless there is considerable snow. They will also wear considerably faster.

If there is considerable snow get a set of chains would be the ultimate.

For what its worth I would stick with them.
