The front tyres on my Freelander 2 have only 2.5 mm tread where as the rears have about 5mm. The owners handbook state that you should replace all 4 together and not swap wheels around. Is this right because its going to prove bloody expensive.
Also i have 235 65 V17 on at moment am i ok with a H Rated tyre?

An "H" tire allows you to do 210 km/h (130 mph). Since the top speed of the Freelander 2 is only 200 (petrol) or 181 (diesel), you should be fine.

Personally, I'd replace them all, just to be sure. It's the only thing connecting your big vehicle to the road, so they're very important for your own security. But I can't think of a good reason why you shouldn't swap them around to be honest...

New tyres should alwats be fitted on on axle on the hippoo - i believe its rear - so just fit the others on the other axle. They must be the same rolling diameter tho.

I have a Freelander 1 and new tyres have to be fitted on the rear and the rear tyres placed on the front as it upsets the viscous drive unit and the ressinance through the vehicle is unbearable from about 30 mph
