I'm not sure. I just know they are 85s And are 3 ply mud terrain. Back two are fine but I cant afford to replace the front ones. Found out steering bar was bent which is whats caused the problem I think but the fender has always driven straight

Exactly. If you recut them you risk blowing out, its not fun.
Thonk OP has overloked the fact that the rubber is so thin the wires will be showing if he recuts them
I've gotta couple 235/85 muds, not great but legal. You can have 'em fer nowt if you wanna try LZ courrier service?
