Disco 2 Tyre question

Hi All
Hope you are doing fine!
I am thinking to buy a new set of tyres as my general grabber at2s are already getting close to wear limit (about 6mm tread depth) and also they are close to 8 year old now. My choice would be BF Goodrich at2 on my 18" wheels or MTs for 16" steel wheels.
Will a new set of BF AT be significantly better on off road than my old Grabbers? Are these also better on snow?

Id say the grabbers mk2 are very similar to BFG ko2. Ko3 bfg is softer but a great all round tyre. But we have used grabber 3 and ko3 both with no obvious issues and both good on and off road. Our ko3 on several vehicles have done circa 250k with no failures. But they are very expensive. on snow, both tyres will be great. Grabbers are slightly quieter and would be slightly less effective in muddier conditions.

So do you think there will not be big difference between my used (6mm tread) grabbers and a new BFG KO2?
Do you have experience with MTs? How they behavie on road? I do not use my car on long distances, but i use it for going fishing to a river where the roads can be quite muddy and slippery after rain or river flood.
I have spare set of steel wheels where i could put MTs but i do not want to change wheels so frequently.

I know that 6mm is more than enough for MOT or use it on normal roads, but I am almost sure that it does not perform the same on offroad like a brand new BFG AT.
I do not just want to waste money if it will not make a reasonable improvment. Otherwise i will put a set of MTs on my spare wheels and put them on for offroading.

Just one comment on min tread depth. For a normal winter tyre the recommended min is 4mm. So, for an offroad 4-5mm also would be realistic. Attached a photo about the wear indicator of my tyre. So I am about 2mm away from it.
