Hello everyone. Newby here. Great forum btw.

I have bought a 1985 90 truck cab for a project. Needs a new chassis, and a tdi engine conversion, but eveything else seems salvagable.

It currently has GoodYear G90's which I believe is a dedicated off road tyre. I want to change to an all terrain tyre.

The problem I am having is to do with the tyre sizes. The G90's are '7.50 R16 C'. If I went for General Grabber AT2's for example, what size would be an equivilent diameter?

I hope this isn't too stupid a question.

cheers

Simon

Thanks Redhand. Nice welcome there.

I have searched till my fingers bled. What I am confused about is the difference in the tyre size formats.

ie. The Goodyear's are '7.50 R16 C' yet all other tyres seem to be in the format '225/75/16' etc.

I thought so as well. My normal response to a newbie that hasn't had the sense to get an idea of how the forum runs, before posting. & who also doesn't even have the intelligence to type "tyre size comparison" into a internet search engine. is to say

FFS do a search ya fick bastid!!

7.50 16 is very similar in size to 235/85/16

but as red says this qs gets flogged to death on ere and people get ****sed of answering to it numerous times

thers squillions of info on ere seek and tho shall find..

welcome btw

Sigh... I don't know what your problem is Redhand, but I bet it's hard to pronounce.

Can anyone else be a bit more helpful?

7.50 x 16 are roughly equivalent to 235/85R16 the 235s are slightly wider but about the same rolling radius (they are fitted to the same vehicles) 750s are only available in a few tyres now have a look on paddock motors website

personally i don't rage the G90 your best bet for a really good A/T is the BF goodrich allterrain T/A in 235/85R16
