I understand that 225/60 x 17 will fit on a F1, these are hard to get in my preferred tyre the Yokohama GO15 A/T. What is available are 215/60 x 17 or 225/65 x 17. Which would be best choice? Fitting F1 wheels from a limited edition, think they are sport?? Will add picture.

the 215/60 might get rounded up like the moto ones. I would avoid that combination.
225/65 will only leave about 5mm (I think) up to the spring cups.

My 17" rims have 225/60/17 tyres, but there plenty of room spare. I often thought about going up to 225/65/17, but then found a set of 18" Sport rims for a silly price, so fitted new tyres those instead. I'm sure there's enough room for the 225/65 on the 17" rims though. The front spring cups will be the closest thing to the tyres, but a 5mm shim spacer will increase the space available. ;)

I think they are called Vortex. 7J x 17. As the wheel doesn't move relative to the spring cup I think I'll get a 65 tyre fitted and try it. As long as it clears the spring cup it should be fine?

BBS Vortex wheels. They were an expensive option when new. You'll find they're close to the spring cups, but will fit without fouling. ;)

This is useful. It says my new ones will be 0.6 inch bigger diameter than my 16 inch. So 0.3 inch reduction in clearance. It may also put the speedo right!
Yes. Fitting tyres of 28.5" diameter will make the speedometer almost perfect. I'm pretty sure that the speedometer is spot on when 29" diameter tyres are fitted. My 235/55/18 (28.2" diameter) tyres bring the speedometer to within a couple of Mph at 70.
