Hello,

I had abit of a bad day yesterday which is not going down well with the wife after spending 600 quid last week on some new tyres for my Disco. Basically i got myself into abit of bother yesterday and had to get a local farmer to pull me out with his tractor. In the process of me getting stuck my power steering reservoir decided to empty itself and then once i got pulled out i managed to limp it the few miles home without power steering and then i noticed the alternator belt was squeeling took look under bonnet and a coolant leak i didnt have much of a look at it last night as just felt like anything i touched would fall apart. The coolant leak appears to be on this pipe below number 17 in the picture, i can see that it has sprung some sort of leak/whole and is ****ing coolant out over the pulley below causing the belt squeal. So my question on ths one is how much of a pain is this to change and am i correct in thinking its part number PEQ000030 http://www.paddockspares.com/peq000030-elbow-coolant-o.html seems to be the part?

Regarding the power steering any advice on the most likely culprit it is not the steering box end it is over at the pump end, i am thinking the pressure on the system when i was trying to assist in getting the discovery out of some really think horrible mud has caused something to blow.

Looking at the diagram below it should be either pipe 13 the pump it didnt appear to be pipe 12 but will take a closer look when i can face going out to look at.

I have now been out to take a look and the Steering leak appears to be coming down the side of pipe 13 so i guess it could well be that pipe that is knackered?

Any advice on any of these problems would be great.

Thankyou for any responses.

Cheers
Neil
