Best thing to bear in mind is don't rush in but I'm sure you know that. It's what I did when I bought my first 90 and I ended up with a shed by thankfully its sorted now. There are fantastic ones coming up within your budget now and again and just keep an eye on places, I'd say this forums the best place to get one as the members are trustworthy enough (most of them ;) ) not to sell a pile of crap and they're usually brilliantly priced.

I'm in no rush to part with my money you can be sure of that but I do have a time limit of the end of may when my mot runs out on the shed of a rover 200 i'm driving now runs out as I know it wont pass the mot again

Went to look at this one
1989 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 DT DIESEL GREEN | eBay
To be honesst it doesn't look half bad but he wants minimum £2750 for it which I think is a bit much and funny enough his brother in law round the corner is selling an ex MOD 110 for £2250, bought as a job lot to flog on me thinks?

Pictures look good on that one, depends on the bits you can't see though as well. As long as the v5 checks out with all the serial nos and its not a write off or anything then I wouldn't be concerned with the brother in law bit selling too. It might be someone that buys and sells them as well as having a day job .

I've crawled about under it and it all looks pretty good, started first time with no smoke as well and runs lovely but it just seemed a bit odd is all.
My guts were telling me to walk away
