Tvb000100 front propshaft

I have a discovery 2 TD5 diesel Automatic (T plate 1999). Will the part number TVB000100 Front propshaft fit this model. It states the part is for a manual gearbox and part number tvb000220 is for the automatic. I read somewhere that my model could be fitted with the cheaper part TVB000100, does anyone know if this will work please.........help!

U have to check VIN for this, there is a p-shaft good for manual and auto to Famous Four - Part Information for FF002295 I don't know the "normal" part number (as U see famousfour have theyr own).......it's up to U to dig further mate, wish U luck on this.........op2: could by many beers on the difference of price.

I have dug out my VIN number however all sites quote VIn ref "Td5 - up to 1A715922 ", my VIN number is XAxxxxxx.
Does it make a difference that mine starts XA and they are quoting 1A, and do you know what the difference is please?

"Up to 1A" means that is made until 2001.........regarding that yours is Td5 it could have W, X, Y, 1(in this case if yours is X, U might save some beer money) or it could be 2, 3, or 4( the expensive p-shaft).........more info about VIN here Land Rover VIN Checker Land Rover One Ten: Land Rover One Ten Blog

The part number you want for a 1999 Discovery TD5 is TVB000100

TVB000100 Front Propshaft - TD5 to 1A715923

Incidently I have a '99 and an '02 TD5 and the front props are interchangable. The only difference is the design of the front sliding section and how it is greased.

The early one has provision for a grease nipple, the later one has bellows which are factory filled with grease and sealed.

Physically they are the same, so why would anyone buy the later prop at nearly twice the price??
