:confused: imagine the senario, been to the local shop, 16 mile drive home, coming cautiously down the drive (dont want to squash me ducks) stop at the garage, apply handbrake, swithch off ignition take out keys jump out, shut the door and stand there thinking "it cant be my engine running, 'av got the keys in me hand...... but realize that it is:doh:" the **** heap wont turn off, we got a J reg disco a tempary vehicle but it dont want to have to stall it every so often, its only done it once or twice. does any one know what could cause this????????

Hopefully, it will be the stop solenoid, but my Disco in Zim had the same problem. The stop solenoid was being prevented from shutting of the fuel supply by the pile of metal shards that had come off my failing injector pump!

Hope yours is simple!
Cheers!

sorry folks i think i forgot to say that techy stuff dont mean owt ti me! the last time i was at an engine it was a 1.2 austin metro, it wouldnt start so i took off the alternator/starter motor and a few other bits...... except not all bits went back on!!!!!!!! well it wouldnt fit, and besides it did run for quite sometime after, if i had a manual is it an easy fix

As long as it's just the solenoid then yes.
