Hello everyone!
Just picked myself up an 01 manual TD5 and have been having some of the usual issues although one I cannot find an answer for is the throttle wastegate actuator.
My locknut was loose when I checked so not sure what it should be set at and have read countless posts about 13 threads showing on the actuator lever from the runout to locknut, however, I have a suspicion there's an aftermarket standard spec turbo on mine (175k on it would like to hope it's been replaced).
I am assuming, with the car off this is when the treads should be measured? and when I've tried to adjust it to the 13 threads, it bottoms out at about 15 (hence the possible aftermarket bits). I've been informed it should be set up properly with a mittyvac but I just don't have the time for another month or so to get it done right so looking a quick safe setup to get it back and running right for now.
It runs really rough over 3K, I have checked the injector wiring and no oil thankfully so I'm putting it down at this stage to lack of boost?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to a quick setup guide as turbos aren't really my thing!
