Turbo issues.

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I've been trying to find out whether you need to leave your engine ticking over for a minute before turning it off, like you do with some other turbo diesel engines, to save damaging the turbo?

Yes. If you have been pushing hard then let it idle for a min or 2 to cool the turbo down. Or drive for a mile or 2 off hard boost. Either method works. It stems from old turbo cars where the Oil would get to hot and cook to the turbos guts and cause them to prematurely fail. Also don't rev from cold or rev it and switch off as the turbo is spinning with little to no oil for the bearings. This will also cause the turbo to fail.
 
Well I finally managed to dig into my turbo issue and found the bottom intercooler pipe had come adrift.
Everything back on and done up nice and tight and woooo hooooo off we go again.
