Hi everyone hoping some could help me. Have a over boost fault on my td5. Every time i hit 3k revs it kills the revs, change gear revs up to 3k does the same through every gear and when it does it in 5th it kills the revs but stops the engine from reving all together and engine cuts out but if turned off and back it goes bk to normal but with same fault in every gear.
Had a friend look on ecu with diagnostics came up with overboost fault and noisy crank signal.
I have a slight leak on my fuel pressure regulator so i was wondering if all this is connected to that?
Cheers

make sure the wastgate is free by moving it with mole grips and lubing it,
is the boost modulator working, its the sensor on the pipe from your wastegate

that wastegate modulator is not very expensive so better get a new one, to rule it out take the pipe from it's bottom and connect it directly to the wastegate actuator valve, if it will run well this way then that's it... if no change and still overboosting you need to read the MAP sensor output with tester cos this signal is used by the ECU to manage the boost

meanwhile check fuse F2 in engine bay to rule it out
