Would be nice if it works BUT i suspect its another of those Magic snake oil dreams. Mind you at under £20 it may be worth a punt

Brian

it's not snake oil - but you do have to adjust the rod so that it's over boosting - and then use that device to wind it back down to a safe/usable level

simply fitting that device without adjusting the rod will do nothing other than allow you to reduce boost from whatever it is currently

Fitting seems simples. It appears to work by just allowing the bleeding orf of some of the pressure, so I think Sean has it spot on.

you fit that in-between the turbo and the wastegate so it blocks any pressure getting to the wastgate until it lets go of pressure that you have set it to, and then open the gate
they used to be called "dawes devices"

they work really well on petrol turbos (as long as you dont overdo it)

but diesels are different, its no good upping boost without upping fuel

and anyway its much easier to just shorten the wastgate rod on 200/300tdi's

how easy is it to adjust the wastgate rod ?

Its a bit fiddly on a 300tdi as the rod is under the exhaust manifold but I would do it on a 300tdi anyway as its already at 1bar. 200tdi is much easier

but best results come from upping the fueling. Whatever you do always mark everything so you can put it back where it was and do it little bit at a time

its just a bleep valve with the adjust er in the cab is stay away nown acouple of people use these i had one on a old car the work well and are very cheep but they cause a masive spike in boost presure as the turbo comes in when you boot then drop down to what presure you`v adjusted it to

Easiest thing to do...

Blank the wastegate pipe work that comes out of the impellor housing, run a vac pipe up to the inlet manifold... at the back there is a small blanking plug.

A Fuel pump banjo bolt from a peugeot 106 diesel fits the threads perfectly... join the vac pipe there.

Makes up for any lost boost in the intercooler/pipework.

Mixed with a tweeked pump give you all the power you'll ever need!

Hope that makes sense...

Blue vac pipe runs to the wastegate, you can see how i've 'blanked' the old pipe by looping itself back into the t piece.

Worthwhile mod as the i/c make it loose around 6psi of boost iirc :)

I got somthing similar but its to Save fuel. Its a solonoid that vents the fuel pump diaphram to air so it doesn't pump in any extra valuable diesel in when the turbo spins up. When I get around to fitting it I'll turn up my fuel and wastegate slightly use it to get up to speed and rurn it off. My dad has it on his Disco 1 and he gets good Mpg but you have got to be careful come to a long drag the disco is gutless knock the switch and it comes to life again.

norledge i see where you fit the banjo at the back of the inlet manifold i cant quite see where the pipe goes under neath the pipe from the air box (I think) if that makes sense?
