Hi all just after a bit of info.
Picked up my V8 a while ago now and its been sat around for a month waiting for a heater box that turned out to be wrong.

Anyway its a 1990 Disco V8 and has got tubular manifolds on it but it hits the chassis on the N/S and is very close on the O/S.
I know it needs a pair of engine mounts but should it have plenty of clearance.
Im thinking its a range rover system but not sure.

What would be the best system for it?

Thanks

Hi,

A bit off subject but might be helpful, just finishing a series V8 conversion. I went with rimmer bros fanny moulds but did not fit due to extra cross member on chasis...

..So changed it for a MGB (B-hive) jobbie. Ok not quite as sexual as rimmer bros, but saves a **** load of space and can very, very easily be modified due to proper down pipes, same as rangie! Size is 1 & 5/8 so is good for apprx. 300BHP (so says V8 developments!)

But id need new downpipes then as well as its a tubular all the way .

Its not hard to mod an exhaust.
Only need to heat it up and bend it half an inch.

Ive been working on motors for 25 years so I have a fair idea what im doing.

You still got the Manifolds mate. What you want for them.
Im based in Sheffield but travel all over the north of England with my job.
Looks like im going to have to replace the system.
After having a good look at the system on mine its been well butchered about.
I dont know what its off but whoever fitted it hammered the collector pipes both sides to try to get past the chassis. So the pipes are almost flat in places. Its not off yet but dosnt look good. They were covered in heat proof bandages so couldnt see it before.

It would have been an easy cut an weld job if they hadnt gone mad with the hammer.

A 4 pack will see it right. Give me a couple of days, I'll see if I have down pipes as well...
then price is 2 x 4 pack.

Dimmers system is quite restrictive and mine failed swapped for a set of hedman headers with exhaust rap yes they are a very tight fit I packed the manifold from the chassis and took it for a run used the heat of the engine to move the manifold removed the packer and now have a 6mm gap on the chassis no rattle or banging

for £460 all in for the complete system inclusing fanimoulds and with a lifetime warranty its the best oprion or me at the mo, as you know the old one is hanging off!
