true worth

hi can any one tell me the value of a p38dt? its done 130000, with a fsh,1998 and its imaculat. i poped in to my local landy dealer to view a 2003 l322, and the chap said he would allow 4000 for mine.considering i gave 6900 for it 8 months ago..... is this man takeing the ****,or is that its true valu? thanks,tom.

HA but your trying to compare retail price to trade in values. There's no point a dealer giving you £6.5K for it and then selling it for the same price is there? So £4k trade in is probably right If you want more you need to sell it in a private sale. I'm assuming the £6.9k you paid was off a trader! if so you're not going to get that much back in a private sale

i think hes not far off - if you wanted to buy a 1998 diesel P38 and had £4000, - you could buy one for that

i think you paid top dollar 8 months ago - and you are pretty much always gonna loose out when swapping after 8 months if you paid a top price to begin with

but - id still tell him thats too low - that will be his first offer - tell him its gotta begin with a "5" and settle on 4500-4750

depends how much money the dealer has in the L322, they will just get sent to the block anyway, will even lose a bit of money on the P/X's sometimes if they have good profit in the car they're trying to sell.
