Can a tree strop rated 10 Tonnes be used in the same way as a bridal rope fastened to the 2 recovery points on your vehicle ?

I have a bridal rope and a tree strop but wonderd if I can use the strop on the other car beign recovered.

I have what was sold as a towing bridal. It is a strop but can't think what the rating was. It came with 3 bow shackles.

So I guess the answer would be yes.

I hope so.

I have 2x 5m 4tonne lifting strops (same as tree strops)
and 1x 3m 2tonne lifitng stop

My dad uses them for lifting machinery and for dragging said manchinery around factories. If it's good enough to lift/drag that I'm hoping it's good enough to pull a little Land Rover out of a ditch

And I use 4.25 tonne rated shackles. I only have two at the mo, I've only just been given the big strops so need some more for them.

; )

the weight ratings are fine if it's just stuck in a ditch and it's a straight forward lift or pull. However, once you start to factor in mud suction and so on, the actual load can be may times the actual weight of the vehicle.

my pet hate is people towing with strops. Yea they are good for straight line pull that requires no extra encouragement but mostly only good as bridals and tree strops. Please people spend the exra tenner and buy decentt rated ropes. Jai
