transmision brake?

has anyone got a diagram of how to set up the shoes for the handbrake on a 200 tdi defender or a photo of it?? well more to the point were the springs go as it seems that mine is stuck on, its the one with the cable and not the leaver.

Spring sit at the back (otherwise the shoes fly off and you can't get the drum back on.

The cable operates the expander - strip the expander, clean and lube with a smear of HT grease (too much just makes it clog again).

I can't find a picture that will be of any use.

it has had all new brakes and a new drum on and has been fine until this morning when i popped into town to get the transfer seal and when i got back the fooker was so hot that i couldnt touch it. had the drum off and all looks ok and i have adjusted it up according to the mauel and then took it for another spin and same again. let it cool down and adjusted the brakes right of and it is still warm but i have no handbrake. now i know these are **** but i dont know what i am doing wrong!
