Just wanting some info on the transfer ECU, The other day i had smoke coming from under the passenger seat of my P38, I pulled over and found that the transfer ecu AMR6353 was red hot and smoking like mad. I disconnected it and got the car home.

I've check the high/low motor and that looks to be working fine with a direct 12v supply.

Now I've been told that the AMR6459 has replaced the ARM6353, But can I just change them over? or will i need to plug into a computer before it will work? Or am I best just getting a 2nd hand AMR6353?

Thank you in advance for your help.
