Transfer box axle wind up

Hi,my 200tdi rang rover classic has started to suffer from axle wind up and is making a what sounds like a uj noise when on full lock .am i right in thinking its probably the transfer box and if so where can i get a recon unit?

housing on transfer box just behind front prop contains viscous coupling ,it will be seized you can check by jacking one front wheel up and trying to turn it with a socket and bar on wheel nut ,housing with v/c can be changed without removing t/box rtc4044 is v/c part number same v/c as fitted to p38 t/boxes
 
james was right v/c seized ,price off recon part 5/600 pounds so searching second hand transfer box near essex,any ideas

You do not need a transfer box, just a VCU, easy to change no need to drop the box, look at Island 4 x 4:) About £300 new from memory if it's the same as the P38.
 
if you get another box check v/c on it you can but bar straight on flange nut and lock rear up to test ,its also worth pulling rear output housing off rear and checking shaft splines they are 90% of the time worn badly ftc657 is number ,shaft and v/c are really the only parts that fail on borg warner
