tranferbox ratio help needed

hi just one of the new boys again i am going to put a discovery tranfer box in my defender to make it better on motorway dose all lt230 tranfer boxes from a discovery have the same ratio if they dont could anyone tell me what ratio is the best for the job will be very greatful for any help with this thanks paul

Discos:
tdi ones are 1.222:1
V8 ones are 1:1
110:
Old 4cylinder pre tdi were 1.6:1
Tdi= on idea
V8= no idea

90
All 1.4:1 except v8s

I fitted a disco 1.22:1 to mine after i fitted a tdi but my gearbox is a military unit and that has a lower 1st and 5th gear so mine was really screaming

just fitted some huge 36.5inch tyres so may well be going back to 1.4 box Jai

yep, there'll be a little sticker on it near the filler plug

i've just put a 1:22 box from a disco on my 110 200, with standard 750s and i wish i'd done it years ago

iv got 36.5" tyres on n im puttin a 1.6 box in,hopefully should bring it bak to some thing near standard.

mpi disco ones will be 1.4 same as a defender. just make sure you get a diesel one. Like sean says there is normally a sticker below the round plate on the back. Some have probably come off though.
If in doubt you can work it out from the serial number and looking at ashcrofts website.
