I am taking my bikes drag racing next weekend and wanted to trailer them there so i can utilise the roof tent, problem i have is that my mates trailer i was borrowing is a standard height bike trailer and my landy is lifted by at least 4inch, i have a drop plate but it's only a small one n would probs only drop it a couple of inch, the towball height of mine measures 73cm n apparently the recommended top height for the trailer is 455mm! so other than dashing out n trying to find one of those drop towbar thingys that landys have, is there a trailer that would fit it that maybe a hire company would have? (My towbar is on quite solid too) or will one of those drop plates that have a few holes on suffice or am i going down the line of having to brace it?

Ta Mandy :D

Hi Mandy,

Have you spoken to Niel about this? I'm sure that he would be able to either help you out or advise.

xx

I was in your part of the world last month, because I was taking for a ride out, but didn't have directions for your place :(

I never got the chance to see Mandys rear end, which is probably why she hasn't come back to this 'Maiden's Cry For Help' post ;)

Next time I'm down I'll give you a bell and we can take things from there, and I'm sure that Dom would like to join us in the Albert in Hebden (his watering hole)

Blue DL, I clicki off for a shoprt while to make a cuppa and then along comes Neil and Mandy together!!

ADJUSTABLE TOW HITCH DROP PLATE FOR LAND ROVER & 4 X 4 VEHICLES | eBay[/quote

so does anyone know if I need to brace one of these and if it will be suffice for me to use said bike trailer with the height of the landy etc etc ? :)

Tow hitch should be braced with two steels that run to the rear chassis legs, inadvisable to tow any but the smallest trailer without the bars, I would think.

Twin or single axle trailer?

Loaded weight of trailer?

dont know that it will be long enough , i have one on my 90 and it is braced to chassis side rails. Mine is slightly above normal ride height on 265/75s and its on the bottom holes for standard trailers . HTSH

I've used a single bike trailer on it when it had a 2 inch lift on n had no problem with that but it did have mini wheels on the trailer

TBH single axle yu wont have a problem, unless the back of the trailer is actually dragging on the road! :)

It is double axle where towball height is very critical! ;)
