I don't have this to the best of my knowledge but have read Datatek's explanations of how it works a couple of times.

It seems to be an additional function of the ABS. This got me wondering. When the gentleman farmer was being shown the P38 in the 90s and the salesman was discussing options at a few hundred pounds a pop, did this just result in Kevin sitting at a computer clicking radio buttons to enable or disable various functions?

Is it theoretically possible to just enable TC on my car?

Are there other 'extras' that can just be enabled?

G~

TC is a development of ABS but cannot just be switched on and off regretably. The valve block is different and so is the ECU. There are cars where both the ABS and the TC can be switched off for use in certain conditions. For example it takes longer to stop on soft snow with ABS than without it.

farmer would have been used to t/c ,since the 80s tractors were fitted with adjustable t/c in conjuction with ground speed radar actual wheel slip can be set

TC on my 80's tractor was a split brake pedal allowing either brake to be applied individually (only rear brakes on a tractor), diff lock was yet another pedal so plus the accelerator, I needed 4 right legs to operate all the pedals:rolleyes:

i thought all p38 had traction control with early cars on the rear only and all 4 wheels from about 2000 on with the face lift.
