I have a '04 Discovery II with 92,000 miles.

It seems the front Traction Control Sensors cause something to grab every so often - when driving on a not too rough road, when exiting a parking lot and turning right....

I haven't had it apart yet. Where might I look for the sensors to see if they're dirty, cracked....? Are they near the ABS sensors? Are they the same sensor?

In advance, thanks for any help (my wife says I'm beyond help, though).

Although I'm not certain about the disco, LR's traction control is generally based on using the ABS sensors to work out when there are significant differences in speed between wheels and braking the spinning wheel to shift traction to the opposite one, so there should be just the ABS sensors, not seperate ones for TC.

Yes it's the same sensor that works the ABS and TC system....

Are your ABS/TC and HD lights on?

When u say the wheel grabs, does the TC kick in, and the light illuminate for 3 seconds?
USUALLY if there is the slightest problem anywhere within the ABS/WABCO system it flags a fault by 'The Three Amigos' I.E ABS/TC and HCD amber lights....and for my liking it's FAR too over sensitive...lol

Personally I wouldn't mess about with taking the sensors out the hubs as i've heard it's near impossible to align them back up/seat them properly and this will just add to your problems....or as a real last resort

Also...have you checked the silly little things it could be I.E Tyres allright? Tyre Pressures?

Thanks for the replies. There are no lights or alarms when it happens. Tire pressure is good. I've taken a peek inside and see no visible signs of rubbing. Ya know, I had the brakes worked on at the dealer about a year ago when the three lights came on (let your mind run wild as to the cost of that!). They say they replaced the RF ABS sensor because it was cracked, or the surrounding ceramic was cracked, or maybe because my head was cracked.... Is it possible it wasn't installed properly and may be out of adjustment/alignment? Hmmmm. Thanks for everything and all of you enjoy a wonderful holiday season.
