Traction Control & Hil Descent Warning Lights?

2001 TD4

Have a question to the more informed than myself.
I have 2, of the above, warning lights simultaniously coming on intermitantly (possibly more often under braking or round corners) and stay on for a few minutes, or sometimes longer, before going out. This is during normal road driving.
In the manual it says to "seek qualified assistance". So where better than here, as opposed to the dealers!!!

Any Ideas or previous solutions?

Brakes could possibly to be warm so the lights come on to warn you that they might not work as good.

The lights stay on for a while as opposed to flash on and off which i believe (according to the manual) is the fault for the scenario which you are describing.

sounds like the common loose wires down by the gear gaitor go into search ,its bin covered ,but i cannot remember the thread

Very common problem, do a search and you will probably be overwhelmed. commonest cause seams to be the brakelight switch. O believe it can often be cured by adjustment.
It seems to be more annoying than anything else, I've never found it stopped HDC or TC working when I wanted them.

i'd go with brake light switch on brake pedal, less than £10 even from a main stealer

not sure the freelander is equipped with temperature sensors on the brakes

The Freelander (& I think all the others) will warn you if HDC action, or Traction Control, may become ineffective due to heat caused by excessive work. The orange warning light will stat to flash, but only if HDC or TC is already in use, so not the cause in this case. I've pushed Freelanders quite hard, and never got the system to overheat. I've no idea what sensors it uses to detect this.
