Track rod end torque

Should be simple - what torque?
I’ve read 40Nm, 80Nm and even up to 110Nm!

Does it make a difference if it’s a nylock nut or castle nut?

To be clear, I’m talking about the bar that connects both swivels together, which is sometimes called the drag link?

Track rod connects wheels/swivels.
Drag link connects wheel/swivel to steering box.
No idea on the torque, tight would be my guess!

Nylock or castle nut is good.
But I find nylock easier as you don’t have to lineup a split pin hole.

This is from the manual, seems really low torque figures to me?
They call them ball joints.
1st column NM, 2nd LBSFT

40nm if i was to use a torque ,i just nip them up by hand so nut is tight,nut type doesnt matter
110nm is 2.5 engine head bolt torque ridiculously high
