Ok I've got a disco 1, 3 door 300 I'm off in a couple of weeks to spend a weekend in Salisbury and need new rubber but on a bit of a budget, most of my miles are on road with occasional sensible laneing days I'm looking at the Toyo open country 235/70/16 any body run these if so how do you rate them if not any sensible options I can't afford bfg yet

i have a full set of Event ML698 All-Terrain 235/70 x 16 tyres on my 300 TDi and they are really great.
I use the Disco on and off road, including marshalling on gravel rallies in forests and for pulling glider trailers into and out of fields.
They have done over 12,000 miles and are still in great condition. Dry and wet road grip is good, noise is OK and performance in mud is good.
I got mine from a friend who is in the tyre business, on his recommendation, and I paid £250 for the complete set inc. fitting.
