towing

hi all just want to pick your brains my brother has a disco just for pay and play days every time he goes he has to hire a trailor .can you tow on a aframe the type you get on ebay or one of those front wheels inthe air type towing dollys just seems a expensive day out to me anyone else do this cheers

I'd suggest, make the disco road legal and then you can drive it to-from the event.

You can buy a legal A-frame if you want, but not to tow 2tons, the biggest one they do is only up to something like 1.5ton. But because the towed vehicle is still on the road, it would need to be taxed, insured, MoT'd etc and comply with all Construction and Use requirements etc etc. Do the sums and you'll soon realise the trailer; or simply driving to-from the event, work out cheaper than a legal A-frame.

There's plenty of lesser A-frames which are only suitable for recovery, not transport.

you wouldnt be able to lift the front wheels of the disco being towed either
