Hi All

This entire post will be based on based on a 2002 Freelander V6 NAS edition, using conventions for Left Hand Driven vehicles. I am not aware which other countries in the World uses USA style towing, but this would apply to them.

I thought I would post this for reference purposes. Instead of using the expensive factory wiring harness adapter, I went with one from Curt, a third party manufacturer of wiring adapters.

I mistakenly use a powered adapter, instead of using the non-powered adapter. I powered the adapter from a cigarette lighter as I very seldom used the Freelander for towing.

Models are:

CURT Tail Light Converter #56146 (This is the powered version, which is not needed on the Freelander)
CURT Tail Light Converter #56130 (This is the non-powered version, which would work in the Freelander)

I used the wires that are in the trunk on the passenger side. There will be pictures attached to this later. This will also be updated when I change the Towing Relay.

I used the splicing connector that came with the kit as I cannot seem to source the correct Molex Connector. I spliced directly unto the "pig tail" part of the wiring.

Wiring Adapter Colour to (Pin on the Connector) Freelander Colour.
Green to (3)Green-White
Yellow to (1)Green-Red
White to (4)Black
Brown to (5)Red-Black
Red to (6)Green-Purple

I hope these pictures are useful to someone. Taking pictures at night in winter in Canada is a challenge in itself.
