hi

am so sorry asking or repeating but would someone be so kind to pm me please in how to remove it

the key is knackered , green handle turns yet stil won't come out

believe there's a knack in getting these off and of course understand why it's not on here due to them getting nicked

huge thks in advance

First off. Make sure the key number matches the number on the lock.
If not, there's your problem. I've had to drill the lock out on one in the past. Once you can get the green handle to pull out, you turn it to withdraw the locking pin. This should allow the hook to drop out. However if it's been in for some time, a hammer may be needed to persuade it out. ;)

thks guys

got the handle turned to show the red band , but the pin at the back won't clear

think i might have an idea but of course don't want to say it on an open forum :D

There has been a recall on those towbars recently, if it hasn't been checked, get it into stealer and have it sorted for nothing.

Agreed. Mine went into LR last September for its recall.
Don't let them fit the preferred fixed tow bar, if you don't want it. It gets hung up while off road, which is why I made them sort out the removable one.

thks ref the recal, there's nothing in the book , but that doesn't surprise me, lol

daft question if they've done a recal on something , surely u can't get them to honour this free on a 2005 car

It was a Vehicle Inspectorate enforcement Gary. LR have to correct any faults found on safety grounds, hence the recall ;) Age of the vehicle doesn't come into it. It was a design fault coupled with poor instructions in the manual, that created the problem.
I suspect that you can get it sorted for free ;)
