being a member of the aa or rac is just an insurance policy, anyone can call them whether a member or not, you just have to pay more. I am willing to do just that, but thought I would see if there was anybody locally that could help me out first, if not then I will pay because at the end of the day I have to get the vehicle home.
 
I'm pointing down hill on a dead end street, if i could turn it around it did cross my mind.
 
Has the cylinder gone pop or has the bracket broken? Sometimes you can re-attach the bracket using washers, cable ties etc to give you enough clutch control to be able to start the vehicle in gear and be able to get yourself home
 
Nope, all it says is you have to notify the control room so they can send some plastic plods to 'protect' you
ah so its illegal to do it without traffic wombles ...
:D:D i called em traffic wombles 1 day on the M1 when the clutch went with the plant trailer on..they didnt like that much:D


still ya still got to phone someone now....kinda defeats the hard shoulder use really,some bits of motorway now have no hard shoulder and just lay-bys...:lol:

I went out to a traffic copper in his missus's freelander, allegedly stuck in the middle lane on a roundabout last year. I told him I'd drive the vehicle into a nearby car park. It was
Met with the typical 'you can't' response. 5 mins later we were sat with both vehicles in the car park waiting for the flat bed to arrive. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
I can only seem to force it in while rolling, I didn't want to risk screwing up the starter motor by starting it in gear.

If I deem that it's quicker/safer to change the wheel than tow a vehicle off the motorway to change it I'll change it Wombles present or not.
