i have fitted a swan neck on my p38 i now just need to connect the electrics there r 2 plugs at the rear. were can i get the plug diagram from also the plug? if i carnt get a plug can i scotch lock it be for the plug, but then i need no what wire dus what? any one got ideas

Firstly, do NOT use Scotchlocks..they are crap. They make a lousy connection which in time causes the parent cable to overheat and burn. P38's have finnicky electrics at the best of times and sound connections are a must.
There are two spare connectors at the rear of the car, one is for the 12N socket (Trailer/caravan lighting) and the other is for the 12S (Trailer reversing light, fridge and battery charge relay coil). The 12V fused power supply to the relay for the fridge, caravan battery charge and auxillary power is then taken from the front terminal post on the Becm rather than trying to fish wires directly from the car battery, through the bulkhead and inside the car.
Google 12N and 12S socket wiring for more details of pinouts etc.

i did not know there was a 12v feed on a p38 for the caravan ( battery fridge etc) my disco 2 did not have one. glad these do it save me a job. so were can i get the plugs from and what r the plugs called??? i have seen kits on ebay and they go for silly money

Either pay the price for the plugs or chop them off and use insulated crimps to join your wiring to the P38 wires. Another alternative is to solder the joints and insulate with heat shrink tubing.:)

is ther e a wiring diagram anywhere for the p38 so i know what wire is what or is it the same as the std colour codes on trailers, caravans etc

If you buy a 12N socket from a LR dealer it comes pre-wired with the connector so it's just "Plug & Play".
I would wire the 12S using crimp connectors or solder/heatshrink as, apart from the reversing lights the live and ignition wires are not capable of powering the fridge, caravan battery charge and other auxillaries etc. due to the physical cable size and amperage rating....these functions must go through a suitable relay.
I have a spare 12N socket here complete with correct P38 connector and pre-wired, if you are interested, send me a PM.
