there is'nt any set torque setting for towbar bolts but just make sure they are tight and the bolts are the the correct strength rating . also towbars are now part of the mot so also make sure the surrounding area is solid.

Sorry I forgot to say, it was a dixon bate and turned out it had the destructions with it. Thanks for the help chaps

Did it need a torque setting? Was it an easy fit? I am thinking of replacing my 'Dixon Bate' tow set up on my 90.....the one I have seems to be off a Series. Came to light when I got my new rear xmember and the holes didn't line up and I aint drilling to try and make it fit. Will flog it on.

It was really simple to fit, it only has several torgue settings e.g. all m8 bolts have the same torque and m10s have a different one etc. The only thing that could have been a problem was the bolts that go through the chassis legs for the diagonal braces because of the proximity to the rear mounted fuel tank. Thankfully the bolts were in already on this one though. The dixon bate kits come with a good set of instructions but the kit my friend bought was missing some bolts and had 2 lots of some parts. Other than that everything went hunky dory.

Thats great, thank you.... I like things fitted as per manufacturers instructions. Seen to many trailers, caravans and people damaged by botched up, make do aditions and tow bars. No disrespect to anyone but if the **** hits the fan it's good to know you did it right... plus insurance company's will call in 'experts' if it goes tits up.
