Can someone recommend a tow bar for a defender 90 with a 2inch lift and (currently) on 33inch tyres. Planning to replace the tyres with something smaller. I have seen some adjustable tow bars but don't want to fork out for them to find out it doesn't go low enough to tow anything with.

TIA

anything that goes low enough to be usable to tow standard trailers is going to negate any off road benefits from the lift and large tyres and just act like a plough. What are you planning on towing? if you just need a small utility trailer you may be better with an ex-army sanky style that is designed to work with a high tow point and that would keep the off road benefit. If you do not off road and need to tow caravans/flatbed trailers, then smaller tryes/removal of the lift would definitely help. But even with the lift one of the dixon bate adjustable tow bars may go low enough for you. (pic form google)

It all depends on the height of the hitch on the trailer. I can measure the lowest point of mine (as above) from the corssmember if that would help you to then compare the height on your lifted vehicle.
