I've just changed the tow bar electrics on my Range Rover Vogue 2005 diesel from single trailer electrics to 13 pin using a dedicated fitting kit. The problem I know have is the warning lights for the Anti lock brakes, emergency brake assist and the dynamic stability warning lights are showing on the dash. Can anyone shed any light on what I've done wrong ?

Have you ensured pins 3, 11, & 13 are independently earthed? That is to say, each has to be earthed to the chassis separately and not joined together then earthed. That can create overheating issues and possible feedback issues through your CanBus which will interpret faults.

Perhaps it's just the case your system need to be "told" about the new wiring set up...

Sorry had to edit, was thinking 12s not the new set up. Apologies for any confusion

Another thought, if you did it yourself, have you ensured that the brake light is wired to red and not red/brown which is a permanent live! That for sure would cause issues.

Thanks for replying I'll check the brake light but I think it's ok. I'll also check the earths

I'm sure you've done it right, but for others the wiring colour and pin numbers are thus:

1 - Yellow Left Indicator
2 - Blue Fog Light
3 - White Earth
4 - Green Right Indicator
5 - Brown Right Side Light
6 - Red Brake Light
7 - Black Left Side Light
8 - Orange Reverse Lights
9 - Red/Brown Permanent Live
10 - Blue/Brown Fridge
11 - Blue/White Earth
12 - UNUSED Not Allocated
13 - Green/White Earth

However, remember the colours apply to the trailer or caravan wiring harness, not those of the car.
